What is the difference between NIALOR® and other forms of Niacin? NIALOR®’s does contain instant-release (crystalline) niacin. However, NIALOR® also contains standardized sylibum marianum & sugar cane policosanol that when combined in a synchronous-release tablet, act as accelerants, making NIALOR® more effective than other forms of Niacin. Sustained-Release (Timed-Release) Niacin typically eliminates the flushing, but over 50% of Sustained-Release Niacin users develop signs of liver toxicity. Flush-Free Niacin also does not produce flushing, but has been clinically shown to have no impact on improving cholesterol.

Sylibum Marianum & Sugar Cane Policosanol make NIALOR® unique in several ways: A. Sylibum marianum combined with niacin in a synchronous-release tablet offsets the typical niacin flushing effect, by suppressing the body’s production of prostaglandin (an inflammatory hormone). This allows you to take powerful, instant-release niacin in much larger quantities than would otherwise be intolerable. B. Improves liver function, sharply improving blood glucose – lipid conversion. C. Keeps the BNC (blood-niacin concentration high) by inhibiting oxidative metabolic breakdown of niacin. More niacin in the bloodstream = more potent improvement of triglycerides & HDL Cholesterol.

What is “Flushing”? Flushing is a histamine reaction to Instant-Release Niacin. Typical symptoms are red, hot and Itchy skin which typically lasts for about 1-2 hours. Flushing is generally harmless, but can be very unpleasant, much like a sunburn.

Does NIALOR® truly eliminate Niacin Flushing? NIALOR® uses sylibum marianum in a synchronous-release tablet to offset the flushing effect of crystalline niacin. Over 90% of our customers report no flushing – a remarkable success rate! However, to reduce the risk for flushing, start by taking only 1/2 NIALOR® tablet at a time, 30 minutes after a meal and avoid alcohol or hot beverages at time of consumption. Tolerance can gradually be increased to accommodate 1 full tablet after a meal.

How long does it take to see results of NIALOR® on my cholesterol? Typical improvements are seen after 3 months, which is covered by a 2-pack of NIALOR®. Dosage amounts are typically 3 tablets per day for the initial period of improving cholesterol & triglycerides and usually can be dropped to about 1-2 tablets per day for maintenance. How does Niacin interact with drugs that I may already be taking? Can I combine NIALOR® with prescription cholesterol medications? Yes, but only under the supervision of your doctor. Niacin and prescription statins have been shown to improve atherosclerosis (buildup on plaque on the artery walls) 68% better than with statins alone. In general, prescription statins are more effective at improving LDL cholesterol, while Niacin is the product of choice to improve HDL Cholesterol and Triglycerides. The Sylibum Marianum ingredient in NIALOR® may offer added liver protection for such a combination.

Should I contact my doctor before taking NIALOR®? Yes it is recommended to do so, particularly if you are taking other prescription medication for heart-related problems or are being treated for other serious medical issues. NIALOR® is a dietary supplement and is not intended to replace prescription medication.
